In Hartings Lab they were working on polymer-nanoparticle composites, including 3D printing materials and biomineralization, to metalloprotein chemistry. We are also a strong proponent of enabling non-scientists to do and enjoy chemistry. This conviction has driven our efforts in communicating chemistry and developing research-based classes.
Mostly, however, it has informed our approach of using cooking as a means to engage people with the chemistry that they perform in their everyday lives. Through our book, Chemistry in Your Kitchen, and our speaking engagements and media interviews,by all of the wonderful chemistry that non-chemists do every day.
